Job summary

Associated British Ports is seeking an Electrical Technician to maintain, repair and improve electrical systems across the port estate, ensuring equipment availability and safe operations.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and contribute to installations and improvements while keeping detailed records. The role offers a path for skill development within a large UK ports network.

Qualifications

• Time-served Electrician with NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Proven electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
• 18th Edition electrical qualification is essential.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults on port plant and equipment.
• Undertake installations, refurbishments, modifications and improvement projects.
• Complete maintenance records and work orders accurately through the maintenance management system.
• Assist with inspections, audits and compliance activities.
• Provide engineering support during breakdowns and operational requirements.
