Job description

Are you an experienced Electrical Technician with a passion for innovation and excellence? We are looking for a talented individual to join a dynamic automotive engineering team based in Glasgow. In this role, you will play a crucial part in new product development and current model production projects working on special purpose vehicles.

This is a permanent position with excellent benefits including a 4 day work week with flexible start and finish times, 25 days holiday and access to an industry leading perks and discounts package.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical products and systems.
2. Amend designs, technical specifications, Bills of Materials (BOM), and documentation through the Engineering Change Note (ECN) process.
3. Oversee maintenance, inspection, and system upgrade programs.
4. Solve technical design problems during the construction of electrical systems.
5. Create Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) for electrical and electronic manufacture and construction.
6. Perform hands-on troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repairs on electrical systems.
7. Analyse and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documents.
8. Represent the engineering team professionally and positively to internal and external customers/suppliers travelling to sites when required.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

1. Proficient in using Electrical Schematic Software, preferably Zuken.
2. HND in electrical engineering or related subject or equivalent experience.
3. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical documents.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and application thereof in electrical fault finding.
5. Skilled in using testing and diagnostic tools.
6. Skilled in using repair tools.
7. Perform hands-on troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repairs on electrical systems both in factory and in the field.
8. Flexibility to travel when required.
