Job summary

Viridor Limited in Exeter is seeking an Electrical Technician to join the team on a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday. The role includes delivering Planned Maintenance schedules and contributing to improvements to boost plant reliability and reduce costs.

You will assess malfunctioning equipment, provide guidance to site management, and use strong diagnostic and communication skills to minimise downtime and meet production demands. Closing date 31 May 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintaining electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to plan, diagnose and implement maintenance improvements.
• Knowledge of CMMS and electrical systems.
• Driving licence held.

Job description

We have an opportunity in Exeter for an Electrical Technician to join our team working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The salary for this role will be £49,129 per year and participation in an annual bonus scheme, in addition to our great range of benefits.

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for delivering the Planned Maintenance (PM) schedules as defined by the site maintenance plans, working to a high standard and in a cost-effective manner. They will also be responsible for planning, organising and undertaking corrective and reactive work and be responsible for delivering improvement projects leading to increased plant reliability and cost reduction.

Undertaking assessments of malfunctioning equipment and being able to provide advice to the site management team will be part of this role. It is essential for our Electrical Technician to possess excellent communication and diagnostic skills, as well as the ability to think logically and decisively to provide required solutions in order to minimise down time and meet production demands.

Our ideal Electrical Maintenance Technician will have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Electro-Technical Installations or equivalent discipline or City & Guilds 2365-2 (Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations) or City & Guilds 2357-3 (Level 3 Diploma in Electrotechnology)
• City & Guilds 2382-15 (17th Addition, IEE wiring regulations).
• Full driving licence
• Experience of carrying out electrical maintenance on a fast-paced manufacturing/ production plant
• Knowledge of CMMS and electrical systems.
• Good understanding of a proactive maintenance strategy and condition monitoring
