Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Electrical Technician in the Southern Region with a home base in Tidworth to maintain plant and electrical equipment and ensure safety across the site. You will respond to breakdowns promptly, keep accurate records, and support the site team in delivering reliable operations.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, 18th edition, and related qualifications; a full UK driving licence is needed.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification NVQ3 or greater and 18th edition wiring regulations are required.
• City & Guilds Level 3 Testing and Inspection qualification is beneficial.
• Thermal imagery qualification is beneficial.
• Portable Appliance Testing qualification is advantageous.
• Must be able to attain MOD Developed Vetting clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work with site management to ensure safety of personnel, contractors and visitors.
• Attend to plant and equipment breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime.
• Report unsafe or defective plant, tools, equipment, PPE, practices or hazards.
• Use workshop facilities and equipment safely and in line with requirements.
• Assist in upkeep and record keeping of spares and accessories (paper and electronic).
• Participate in confined space operations and undertake training as required.

Job description

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 (DOE) per annum plus company vehicle and local discretionary bonus scheme along with Veolia benefits. Company tools provided.

Hours: 40 hours per week with out of hours standby participation as a requirement of this post, typically a 1 in 4 week frequency.

Location: Southern Region (Working area) - Home base at Humber Lane, Tidworth.

What you'll be doing

• Work with the Veolia site management team to ensure site personnel, contractors and visitors are safe.
• Ensure that plant and equipment breakdowns are attended to in a timely manner and that downtime is kept to a minimum.
• Report any unsafe or defective plant, tools, equipment, PPE, practices, methods or other hazards.
• Use and operate workshop facilities and equipment safely and in accordance with Company and statutory requirements.
• Assist in the upkeep and record keeping of spares and accessories, both in paper and electronic form.
• Participate in confined space operations as required and be prepared to undertake training where required.

What we're looking for

• Electrical Qualification, to NVQ level 3 or greater, 18th edition wiring regulations, preferably City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 / ECS or JIB card holder.
• City & Guilds Level 3 Testing and Inspection Qualification and/or experience is beneficial.
• Thermal Imagery Qualification is beneficial.
• Portable Appliance Testing Qualification and/or experience is advantageous.Must be able to attain a Ministry of Defence security clearance up to "Developed Vetting Standard".
• Full driving licence and a background in operating within a large geographical area.
• Basic IT Skills required.
