Job summary

RED is expanding its London-based team and seeks an Electrical Technical Director to lead the design and delivery of engineering services for data centres and other mission-critical projects. You will manage client relationships, oversee cost, schedule and technical risk, and mentor junior engineers.

The role requires Chartered Engineer status, UK building services knowledge, and a track record in international project delivery. Hybrid working and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent.
• MCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC + appropriate experience or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience in asset replacement design for data centre projects in operational environments.
• Experience managing projects abroad (desirable).
• Knowledge of health and safety issues and UK legislation.
• Understanding of contracts and business law.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Flexible and self-motivated with ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Understanding of UK standards/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Take leadership role in development, design and coordination of engineering project services.
• Carry out cost and profit diagnosis on projects and prepare fee proposals.
• Liaise with clients and project teams to establish requirements.
• Lead on monitoring of construction and installation.
• Mentor younger team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Support procurement and tender activities for MEP services.
