Job summary

British Steel in Scunthorpe is seeking an experienced Electrical Team Leader to guide the Blast Furnace engineering team. You will plan and supervise daily electrical maintenance and improvements to support asset reliability.

You will lead craft groups of internal staff and contractors to safely complete tasks, respond to breakdowns, and optimise performance of motors, drives, PLCs, SCADA/HMI and MCC systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical trade or apprenticeship.
• Experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding within heavy engineering or similar environments.
• Ability to adapt to new equipment and learn quickly.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and execute daily electrical maintenance and improvement tasks.
• Lead craft work groups of internal staff and contractors to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Respond to breakdowns and maintain asset reliability across electrical systems including motors, drives, PLCs, SCADA/HMI, MCC.
