Job summary

Expleo Group is recruiting an EDS Engineer to join our team in Staffordshire, supporting a major off-highway manufacturer. You will develop electrical systems for future products, from high voltage to 12V/24V configurations, using CAD tools to define wiring and architectures.

You will ensure compliance with vehicle legislation and standards across the UK, Europe and ROW, apply safety-critical design principles, and contribute to component specification, testing, and validation.

Qualifications

• HND in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience with off-highway or automotive electrical system design.
• Knowledge of vehicle legislation and standards across UK, Europe, and Rest of World.
• Experience in circuit fault detection and diagnostics.
• Experience with wiring harness architectures for vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing high voltage electrical systems for heavy duty vehicles (12V–600V).
• Developing 12V and 24V electrical systems for standard vehicle applications.
• Using CAD tools (Zuken E3 and Siemens NX) to define vehicle electrical wiring systems.
• Supporting the definition and development of electrical and electronic system architecture.
• Applying safety critical design principles for off highway electrical and electronic systems.
• Specifying electrical and electronic components for vehicle applications.
• Conducting testing and validation of electrical and electronic components and systems.
• Producing technical specifications, group standards, and engineering instructions.
• Carrying out system and installation reviews to established standards.
• Setting up and maintaining development and validation rigs.
