Recruit 12 is seeking an Electrical / E&C Systems Engineer in the United Kingdom to lead the development of electrical architectures for next‑gen machines. You will own concepts through validation and production, defining ECU allocations, CAN layouts and sensor integration, while ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance.
Key tasks include creating system requirements, managing V‑cycle traceability, validating plans (DVP&R), and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and suppliers
Owning the development and evolution of electrical and electronic machine systems from concept through validation and production.
Defining and developing electrical architectures, including ECU allocation, CAN network layouts and sensor/actuator integration.
Ensuring electrical designs meet functional, environmental and reliability requirements.
Supporting the integration of ECUs, embedded software and machine-level control functionality.
Developing and maintaining system requirements, electrical specifications and interface definitions.
Managing traceability throughout the engineering V-cycle development process.
Defining and executing validation plans (DVP&R) for electrical systems.
Using CAN tools to verify system behaviour, diagnose faults and optimise machine functionality.
Leading structured fault-finding activities across electrical and control systems.
Supporting programme delivery through design reviews, gateway processes and change management.
Working with suppliers on electrical components including ECUs, sensors and wiring harnesses.
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
A minimum of 2 years experience within automotive, off-highway, mobile machinery or similar engineering environments.
Strong understanding of electrical architectures, including 12V/24V systems.
Experience with CAN communication protocols, including J1939.
Knowledge of control systems, electrical integration and machine-level functionality.
Experience with system validation, testing and electrical fault finding.
Ability to analyse technical issues and apply structured problem-solving techniques.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Experience working with engineering documentation, requirements management and development processes.
