Job summary

iO Associates is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join a UK project in Rugby. The role covers the full lifecycle from concept to testing, delivering integrated electrical architectures for marine and power applications.

This contract is hybrid with 2–3 days on-site, paying £70–80 per hour Inside IR35, for 6–12 months, requiring Active SC clearance to start.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical systems engineering, ideally within a complex industrial environment.
• Desirable: MATLAB/Simulink, Speedgoat, project planning, and high-voltage electrical systems.
• Experience with electrical system integration and commissioning is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system and control architectures
• Define system requirements, FDS and ICDs
• Work with high-voltage electrical systems up to 1kV AC / 1.5kV DC
• Integrate electrical, mechanical, controls and power electronics systems
• Support system testing, commissioning and performance analysis
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and procurement
• Investigate and resolve technical and quality issues

We’re currently looking for an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join an exciting engineering project supporting the development and integration of electrical systems across marine and power generation applications.

You’ll be involved throughout the full engineering lifecycle, from concept and system architecture through to testing, commissioning and final delivery, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system and control architectures
• Define system requirements, FDS and ICDs
• Work with high-voltage electrical systems up to 1kV AC / 1.5kV DC
• Integrate electrical, mechanical, controls and power electronics systems
• Support system testing, commissioning and performance analysis
