Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an Electrical integration engineer with experience in Power systems to support marine and power generation projects in the Midlands. You will contribute from concept to delivery, working with project managers and power electronics teams to meet customer requirements.

The role focuses on system integration, architecture definition, FDS and ICD documentation, and commissioning controller software, with responsibility for test plans and performance analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience designing electrical systems for motors, generators, drives and switchboards.
• Experience applying power systems design to marine and power generation projects.
• Ability to define Functional Design Specification (FDS) and Interface Control Document (ICD).
• Candidate must be able to obtain SC Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical systems design for motors, generators, drives and switchboards from concept to delivery.
• Integrate electrical systems to meet customer requirements and support CAD/Mechanical teams with layout diagrams.
• Define electrical and control architecture and document connections between controller, power electronics and subsystems.
• Configure and commission controller software; develop and execute Test & Validation Plans; analyze performance data.

Role - Electrical engineer (Power systems) - Inside IR35

Location - Midlands

The client is looking for an Electrical integration engineer with experience of Power systems, working with equipment such as Motors, Drives, Switchboards etc

you will be responsible for developing electrical systems design of motors, generators, electrical drives and switchboards for marine and power generation applications. You will be involved at all stages of the system design process from concept to delivery of equipment and systems. You will be working with project managers, technical leads and power systems and power electronics teams to deliver projects to customer requirements.

In this role you will focus on:

• Integrate electrical systems to meet customer requirements.
• Define the overall electrical and control architecture, Define Functional Design Specification (FDS) for the entire electrical system. Define requirements for all electrical components.
• Develop and manage the Interface Control Document (ICD), document electrical and logical connections between the controller, power electronics, and mechanical sub-systems.
• Provide the technical system overview to the CAD/Mechanical team for system layout and connection diagrams.
• Configure and commission the controller software; develop Test & Validation Plan; Analyze performance data, and verify the system behavior.
