Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking an Engineer - Electrical Systems Analysis to deliver electrical system analysis for the SMR nuclear power plant. You will build models, run studies and provide datasets to support concept evaluation, design development and safety case substantiation.

Working under senior engineers, you’ll strengthen capability in power systems analysis and safety case evidence generation while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the lifecycle of a groundbreaking UK

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical engineering within a regulated or complex environment.
• Ability to develop and interpret electrical system models with guidance.
• Experience supporting concept evaluation, design development or substantiation activities.
• Awareness of electrical distribution, protection, earthing, battery and power generation systems.
• Strong reporting and communication of technical information.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system models for analysis and design maturation.
• Quality-check electrical datasets including load and cable schedules.
• Perform electrical studies using approved methods and tools.
• Produce calculations, assumptions records and outputs for reviews.
• Contribute evidence to design reviews and development activities.
• Identify assumptions, limitations and uncertainties in studies.
