Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR Ltd. is seeking a Senior Nuclear Fire Safety Engineer to shape fire safety strategy for our reactor island design.

You will act as a technical authority, potentially leading a small team, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across the safety case and ALARP justifications. The role requires a degree in engineering or science, Chartered status or professional membership, and experience in a highly regulated environment with fire engineering expertise.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline, with Chartered status or professional membership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage fire safety strategies for nuclear facilities.
• Lead the production and review of Fire Hazard Analyses and safety cases.
• Define fire protection design solutions for detection, suppression, alarms, and evacuation.
• Collaborate across engineering and regulatory teams and mentor junior engineers.
