Job summary

Rolls‑Royce SMR is recruiting an Engineer – Electrical Systems Analysis to support electrical system modelling, studies and data production for the SMR nuclear power plant. You will apply electrical engineering principles and structured analysis to underpin design development and safety case substantiation.

You will work under experienced engineers to build capability in power systems analysis, safety case evidence generation and lifecycle verification, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Experience in electrical engineering within regulated or complex environments is preferred.
• Ability to develop and interpret electrical system models with guidance.
• Experience supporting concept evaluation, design development or substantiation.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of electrical system models used for analysis and design maturation.
• Develop and quality-check electrical datasets, including load and cable schedules.
• Perform electrical studies using agreed methods, assumptions and tools.
• Produce calculations, assumption records and technical outputs for reviews.
• Contribute evidence and analysis to support design reviews and development activities.
• Identify assumptions, limitations and uncertainties in engineering studies; support concept evaluation and electrical architecture development.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to capture requirements and assess design options.
• Support verification and substantiation activities across the electrical systems lifecycle.
• Develop capability in electrical systems analysis and safety case evidence generation.
