Job summary

United Living Group is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to lead electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding across water treatment facilities and pumping stations in Havant. You will supervise electricians, plan daily tasks, and ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

In this role you will oversee LV systems, MCCs, and plant upgrades, manage subcontractors, and ensure timely preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)
City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent
CSCS/ECS card
SSSTS card
Jib Gold card
Water Hygiene / EUSR National Water Hygiene “Blue Card” (or ability to obtain)
Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

Supervise a team of electricians, technicians, and contractors carrying out installation, maintenance, testing, and commissioning works.
Plan and allocate daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow and resource utilisation.
Monitor work quality, ensuring adherence to specifications, drawings, and method statements.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
Oversee maintenance of LV electrical systems, motor control centres (MCCs), pumps, panels, cabling systems, instrumentation, and control equipment.
Supervise installation of new electrical equipment and plant upgrades in treatment works and network assets.
Ensure planned preventive maintenance (PPM) is completed to schedule and reactive tasks are addressed promptly.
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with BS7671, WIMES, Health & Safety at Work Act, LOTO, DSEAR/ATEX.
Conduct risk assessments, method statements, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
Maintain accurate quality documentation including test certificates and commissioning records.
Provide technical expertise in diagnosing electrical, control, and automation faults.
Escalate complex issues and work with engineering teams, SCADA/ICA engineers, and OEMs to resolve problems.
Perform root cause analysis following equipment failures.
Supervise electrical works on capital and refurbishment projects.
Ensure contractor compliance with specifications, safety standards, permits-to-work, and site rules.
Assist with design reviews, installation checks, commissioning, and handover documentation.
Ensure electrical drawings, schematics, and asset information are kept up to date.
Record maintenance activities in the company’s asset management system (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
Provide input for asset condition assessments and lifecycle planning.
