Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking an Electrical Supervisor to lead day-to-day electrical maintenance within a Defence sector PFI contract in Plymouth. You will supervise a team of electricians, manage LV/HV duties as AP, and ensure safety compliance and uninterrupted service delivery.

The role involves overseeing faults, testing, and statutory activities, with opportunities for professional development and AP certification refreshers.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certification.
• Experience operating LV/HV systems with at least 5 years in electrical maintenance.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience (AP certification or willingness to train preferred).
• Experience using CAFM systems to manage work orders and compliance (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Supervise planned preventative maintenance and reactive electrical works, ensuring safety and workmanship.
• Lead and support a diverse team of electricians and technicians, ensuring compliance with standards.

Role Responsibilities

• Supervise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical works, ensuring high standards of safety and workmanship.
• Lead and support a diverse team of electricians and technicians, ensuring adherence to electrical standards and safety procedures.
• Manage faults, breakdowns, testing, and inspections, particularly across critical Defence assets and Naval accommodation.
• Act as Authorised Person (AP) for LV/HV systems, overseeing safe isolations, switching operations, and permit control.
• Promote a strong Health & Safety culture, ensuring compliance with Permit to Work and LOTO procedures.
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

Required Qualifications
