Job summary

ADS Construction Personnel Ltd is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical projects in Milton Keynes. You will manage from pre-construction through handover, with responsibility for procurement, programmes, installation, testing and commissioning on commercial fit-out and refurbishment schemes.

Qualifications

• Experience as Electrical Project Manager in building services, M&E or electrical contracting.
• Experience delivering commercial fit-out, refurbishment or design-and-build projects.
• Good knowledge of UK electrical standards, health and safety and CDM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical projects from pre-construction through to practical completion and handover.
• Procurement, programmes, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, supervisors, suppliers and site teams.
• Monitor budgets, variations, valuations, forecasts and project performance.
• Work with clients, consultants, main contractors and design teams.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, design changes and project documentation.
• Coordinate electrical with mechanical, architectural and structural packages.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.
• Ensure RAMS, permits and CDM requirements are followed.
• Identify risks and address issues quickly.

Electrical Project Manager

Electrical Building Services | M&E | Commercial Fit-Out & Refurbishment

An established and growing M&E contractor is looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join its Milton Keynes team. The business has a strong pipeline of commercial work and delivers electrical and wider building services projects across the region. You will join a close-knit team where decisions are made quickly, senior management is accessible and you will have the freedom to run your projects properly.

You will manage electrical projects from pre-construction through to handover, taking responsibility for procurement, programmes, installation, testing, commissioning and commercial performance. Projects include commercial fit-outs, CAT A and CAT B refurbishments, design and build schemes, electrical infrastructure upgrades and specialist building services installations. It is a hands-on role with plenty of ownership and a varied workload.

The Role

• Manage electrical projects from pre-construction through to practical completion and handover
• Take control of procurement, programmes, installation, testing and commissioning
• Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, supervisors, suppliers and site teams
• Monitor budgets, variations, valuations, forecasts and project performance
• Work closely with clients, consultants, main contractors and the wider design team
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, design changes and project documentation
• Coordinate electrical services with mechanical, architectural and structural packages
• Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover
• Keep quality, health and safety, RAMS, permits and CDM requirements on track
• Identify technical, commercial and programme risks and deal with issues quickly

What You'll Need

• Experience working as an Electrical Project Manager within building services, M&E or electrical contracting
• A background delivering commercial fit-out, refurbishment or design and build projects
• Good technical knowledge of LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, fire alarms, structured cabling, security systems, UPS, standby power, BMS integration, testing and commissioning
• Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, programmes and procurement
• Commercial awareness, including budgets, variations and cost control
• Good knowledge of current UK electrical standards, health and safety and CDM requirements
• SMSTS and a CSCS or ECS card
• An electrical qualification such as an HNC, HND or degree would be useful, although strong practical experience will also be considered
• Based within commuting distance of Milton Keynes and able to travel to project locations when required
