Job summary
Gap Technical Ltd is recruiting Electrical Project & Maintenance Engineer for a Gateshead facility. The role covers installation of a new production line, electrical commissioning and hands-on support across PLC, HMI and automation systems.

Qualifications
- Electrical qualification such as HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3.
- Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
- Experience installing and commissioning production machinery.
- Strong fault-finding and ability to read schematics/drawings.
- Experience with motors, sensors, control panels and distribution.
- Experience working with electrical contractors and suppliers.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and safe systems of work.
- Able to work during installation, commissioning and start-up.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for electrical activities on a new production line install.
- Review drawings, schematics, panel layouts and equipment specs.
- Ensure works meet standards, spec and programme.
- Coordinate cable installation, containment and control gear.
- Liaise with suppliers and OEM engineers during install/commissioning.
- Monitor contractor progress and ensure safety and quality.
- Record documentation, tests certificates and records.
- Assist with cost control and procurement of electrical equipment.
