Theo James Recruitment is assisting a leading engineering services provider to appoint an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding team in Gateshead. The role focuses on maintaining automated production equipment and ensuring uptime across a major facility.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repair work on PLC-controlled machinery, with ongoing training and clear career progression within a stable, long-term project environment.

Qualifications

• Time-served electrical apprenticeship completed.
• HNC (or higher) preferred.
• Experience with automation and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Proficient reading of electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience in manufacturing or process industries.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automated production equipment.
• Fault finding and repair to keep machinery safe, reliable and available.
• Support continuous improvement programmes and preventative maintenance.
• Operate within a five-year contract with future project opportunities.

Job Description:

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will join a specialist engineering team responsible for supporting a major manufacturing facility. The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and repair activities on automated production equipment, ensuring machinery remains safe, reliable and operational.

Working within a fast-paced industrial environment, the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will support continuous improvement initiatives, preventative maintenance programmes and equipment reliability. This Electrical Maintenance Engineer role offers excellent long-term stability through a five-year customer contract, with future opportunities across additional engineering projects.

Skills & Experience:
