RSE in West Thurrock is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Asset Operations and Maintenance division on a full-time, permanent basis. You will deliver small to medium multidisciplinary projects across utility services, working with the in-house design team and clients.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Engineering, project management experience, strong communication, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Degree/-equivalent in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Proven track record in project management with engineering/supervisory background.
• Good time management and multitasking in a busy environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials common to engineering trades.

Responsibilities

• Project liaison from enquiry to final acceptance and documentation, with client meetings and site surveys.
• Direct and allocate work to trades and apprentices with focus on quality, productivity and safety.
• Ensure technical information is available for design/construction delivery.
• Interpret drawings/specs/schedules and prepare final documentation (As Built drawings).
• Identify and resolve non-conformance during design and construction phases.
• Manage design of systems/products aligning with specifications and technical aspects.
• Complete contract documents and manage QA/HS procedures for projects.
• Contribute to tender, design and construction programmes with progress updates.
• Liaise with subcontractors; review tender specs and H&S documentation.
• Prepare Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans under CDM for Principal Contractor roles.

What Are We Looking For
Following continued success, our Asset Operations and Maintenance division is looking for Project Engineer to join our team on a full time, permanent basis in West Thurrock. The Asset Operations and Maintenance team deliver small to medium multi-discipline projects on the repair, replacement, design and installation of equipment and plant systems for Utility services (Water and Power). The team additionally services clients within the Transport, Food & Beverage, and Oil & Gas industries throughout the UK.

Supported by a highly experienced team, you'll play a key role in delivering projects, building strong client relationships across our framework agreements, and helping shape innovative engineering solutions. You'll also have direct access to our in-house design team, enabling real-time collaboration and technical expertise to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.

Some Of Your Key Duties Include

• Project liaison from enquiry stage to final acceptance and documentation, meeting with Clients as required to discuss specific requirements and carry out site surveys as required.
• Instructing, directing, controlling and allocating work to Trade Operatives & Apprentices, with attention to quality, productivity and safety.
• Ensure all technical information is available when required for the delivery of design and/or construction.
• Interpret and check drawings, specifications and schedules for all activities, directing works accordingly & prepare final documentation (As Built Drawings etc.).
• Early Identification and resolution of non-conformance within both the design and construction phase
• Manage the design of systems and products, ensuring alignment with design specifications and technical aspects.
• Completion of contract documents
• Management of Project Quality deliverables and procedures ensuring compliance with Internal and Client Quality Systems.
• Input to Tender, design and construction programmes including progress updates and reporting.
• Subcontractor liaison, management including tender specification, quotation and H&S documentation review and appraisal.
• Preparation of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans for projects with Principal Contractor responsibility under CDM.

What do you need?

• Qualification to degree / HND/ HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven track record in Project Management, with an Engineering or Supervisory background.
• Good time management, with the ability to multitask, plan and organise day to day workloads within a busy environment.
• Good communication skills in both verbal and written communication and ability to follow, interpret and explain technical instructions.
• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to all engineering trades, particularly Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
• Driven, with an ability to work individually and with teams under your direction.
• Innovative thinking, with and ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
• Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
