Job description

Electrical Operative - Walsall Street Lighting

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Electrical Operative to join our Walsall Street Lighting account.

The standard hours of work are 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4pm).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the electrical testing of street lighting apparatus and cables.
• Install electrical equipment including LED lanterns.
• Excavate holes for foundations.
• Complete required electrical test sheets and work records.
• Work at heights of up to 12 metres.
• Perform physical tasks such as digging.
• Maintain contact with Statutory Undertakers’ operatives and members of the public.
• Ensure the security of plant, tools, and materials, and safe use of vehicles.
• Wear all PPE and prioritize health and safety for yourself and the public.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Work some unsociable hours and overtime as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Full UK driving licence (HGV License preferable).
• Ability to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions.
• Experience with electrical installations within the public realm & highways.
• Experience with limited access excavation / groundworks in the public realm & highways.
• City & Guilds Level 2 or equivalent in Electrical Installation.
• Relevant CSCS / ECS Card.
