Job Description:

Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, is seeking a skilled Electrical Test Operator who has completed a full Electrical apprenticeship. The role involves performing testing tasks within the operational business, adhering to product certification procedures and workmanship standards. The candidate must ensure projects stay within budgets and timescales. This is a full-time, on-site position with potential for contract extension or permanent employment.

What we're looking for:
  • Electrical Apprenticeship in one of the following:
    • Vocational G or H Units with Further Education, City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3
    • Vocational TR23 Units with Further Education, ONC or City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3
    • Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC
  • Manual handling / ESD training: Lifting & Slinging training (including overhead cranes)
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and adaptable skills
  • No colour blindness
What you'll do as an Electrical Test Operator:
  • Ensure product conformance to certification procedures and maintain approvals through audits
  • Perform setup procedures for testing, including recalibration of equipment
  • Follow instructions for testing electronic equipment using designated tools
  • Perform basic fault-finding and rectify issues
  • Keep test records, report faults, and meet manufacturing test times
  • Uphold workmanship standards and product quality
  • Follow manufacturing procedures
  • Share best practices with team members

Note: All employees must obtain the appropriate clearance relevant to the role.
