Job summary

VolkerHighways is recruiting a Highways Street Lighting Operative to support electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations on our Kingston and Sutton projects. The role includes 24-hour emergency response and working at heights.

You will assist with signs, columns, bollards, and related equipment, plus electrical inspection, testing, fault diagnosis and vehicle maintenance as directed by the Site Supervisor. Driving is essential for site mobility.

Qualifications

Some Highways maintenance experience.
Comfortable with working from height.
Commutable to SW19 depot.
Desirable: SWQR Qualification and Highways Electrical Level 3 NVQ.
Desirable: Safe Isolation / G39, Street Lighting installations experience.
Desirable: MEWP Operator and ECS H&S Test.
Desirable: First Aid.

Responsibilities

Assisting with the installation of signs / columns, bollards and associated equipment
24 hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby
Assisting with the installation of any new build works
Carry out works as instructed by the Site Supervisor in a safe manner, within the scope if relevant duties
Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing
Fault diagnosis and repair
Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard, with vehicle defect sheet completed correctly

We have the capability to deliver major surfacing and public realm infrastructure projects. Our specialist in-house traffic management division provides expert advice and support across the industry, whilst assisting with our own, in-house contracts., We have a fantastic opportunity for a Highways Street Lighting Operative to work on our Street Lighting project in Kingston and Sutton. You will be responsible for providing support for electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations.,

Job responsibilities:
