Job summary

VolkerHighways is recruiting a Highways Street Lighting Operative to support our Street Lighting project in Kingston and Sutton. You will assist with electrical installations, repairs and planned maintenance, carrying out new installations while working outdoors year-round on site.

You will participate in the installation of signs and columns, provide a 24-hour emergency response, perform inspections and testing, diagnose faults and ensure vehicles are well maintained.

Qualifications

• Enjoys working in an outdoor environment all year-round.
• Comfortable working from height.
• Reasonable commute to SW19 depot.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the installation of signs / columns, bollards and associated equipment
• 24 hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby
• Assisting with the installation of any new build works
• Carry out works as instructed by the Site Supervisor in a safe manner, within the scope if relevant duties
• Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing
• Fault diagnosis and repair
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard, with vehicle defect sheet completed correctly

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Highways Street Lighting Operative to work on our Street Lighting project in Kingston and Sutton. You will be responsible for providing support for electrical installations, repairs, planned maintenance and new installations.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with the installation of signs / columns, bollards and associated equipment
• 24 hour Emergency Response / Out of Hours Standby
• Assisting with the installation of any new build works
• Carry out works as instructed by the Site Supervisor in a safe manner, within the scope if relevant duties
• Electrical inspection and testing including periodic testing
