Job description

Vacancy: Electrical Operational Site Engineer – Brimsdown Site

We are seeking a Senior Site Electrical Engineer to join the London‑based refinery Brimsdown site. The role involves safeguarding the safety and operational integrity of both high‑voltage (11 kV) and low‑voltage electrical equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of electrical technicians working on 12/7 and 24/7 shift patterns.
• Provide technical specialist support to site and projects teams for design, construction, risk assessment, improvement opportunities, troubleshooting and incident response.
• Ensure electrical safety for all personnel and contractors.
• Promote a strong Health & Safety culture and enforce adherence to JM policies.
• Oversee operational, maintenance and compliance aspects of site electrical systems.
• Approve and manage electrical safety documentation, ensuring compliance with safety guidance.
• Train to perform HV switching operations and ensure statutory electrical compliance, including inspections, maintenance and protection settings.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven years of industrial electrical experience.
• Experience managing electrical teams and coordinating multiple priorities.
• Strong safety focus with an understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., DSEAR/ATEX, COMAH).
• Experience with HV switchgear and explosive atmospheres is desirable.
• SAEP status desirable.
