Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution is recruiting a Grade 5 Network Planner for the Ty Coch depot. You will design, cost and quote projects, and plan the replacement/diversion of electrical assets while coordinating with engineers to meet service demands.

Required are English and Maths GCSE at Level 4 or Functional Skills Level 2, plus Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 (Level 3 if not yet attained). A full UK driving licence is required for site visits and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at level 4 or above (or Functional Skills Level 2).
• Level 2 City & Guilds 2339, or equivalent; Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 if not yet attained.

Responsibilities

• After training, you'll be hands-on, responsible for project design, costing and quoting and the replacement/diversion/reinforcement of existing electricity network assets.
• Plan, prepare and deliver new services, alterations and small capital projects.
• Design schemes that align with Engineering Directives and consider voltage drops.
• Prepare quotations and Connection Agreements for LV connection-related works.
• Access, remove or avoid site risks.
