Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne
Type: Permanent
Salary: £43,000 per annum
Shift Pattern: Continental (Shift Pattern doesn't include working weekends)

Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician looking for a new, permanent opportunity with a great work-life balance? We're hiring a motivated and reliable technician to join our engineering team in Newcastle Upon Tyne, working a continental shift pattern that doesn't include weekends.

About the Role:

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment, services, and the fabric of the building, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance on a wide range of site equipment.
2. Accurately record and communicate maintenance activities using written, verbal, or electronic means.
3. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards (IEE regulations) and internal HSE procedures.
4. Assist in identifying and fixing faults across electrical systems, PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical equipment.
5. Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and take ownership of solutions.
7. Review maintenance tasks and provide feedback or corrective action plans.

What You'll Need:

1. Time-served Maintenance Technician background
2. Solid electrical maintenance experience within an engineering environment (5+ years)
3. Familiarity with PLC systems, particularly Allen Bradley
4. Exposure to mechanical systems alongside electrical expertise
5. Good understanding of health & safety procedures

Desirable Qualifications:

1. 17th Edition IEE Regulations
2. HNC in Engineering
3. NEBOSH or IOSH Certification
