Job summary

South East Water is seeking an experienced electrician to maintain, repair and install electrical systems across pumping stations, reservoirs and treatment works. You’ll handle control panels, pumps, motors and monitoring equipment, responding to breakdowns and supervising contractors.

You’ll be the go to person for keeping our water flowing, maintaining everything from control panels to high capacity industrial pumps. It’s challenging, varied, and vital work where no two days are the same. This will involve maintaining and installing electrical systems and equipment such as control panels, pumps, motors, water quality analysers, and chemical dosing equipment. Additionally, this role will respond to breakdowns, oversee the work of contractors, and perform necessary repairs and enhancements.

The Role:

What You’ll Be Doing As a member of our electrical team you will ensure our water keeps flowing by maintaining, repairing, and installing everything from intricate control panels to high-capacity industrial pumps. No two days are the same in this varied and vital position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair, maintain, and install electrical plant and water treatment equipment (including control panels, pumps, motors, chemical dosing equipment, and water quality analysers).
  • Liaise with, supervise, and work alongside external contractors undertaking works on-site.
  • Assist the wider Production team with specialised tasks, including Confined Space Entries.
  • Issue Permits to Work, adhere strictly to Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and Production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Mandate mandatory mandatory mandatory mandatory obligations mandatory.
  • Update site operating manuals, monitor site security, and assist with engineering capital works.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in our work management systems, alongside daily admin (timesheets, H&S forms, vehicle logs).
  • Take part in a Standby rota to provide essential out-of-hours support to the operational area.
What We Are Looking For
  • Qualifications: Electrically qualified to at least a Level 3 NVQ Diploma or equivalent (e.g., HNC, completed apprenticeship).
  • Experience: Previous electrical experience within an industrial, commercial, or domestic setting (Industrial experience is highly advantageous).
  • Technical Skills: Proven ability in electrical fault-finding and problem-solving.
  • IT Literacy: Confident using IT and computers to update digital records and reports.
  • Mobility: A valid UK manual driving licence is essential.

Compensation package: £37,900 - £45,900 + company van, standby allowance, and overtime potential.
