Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a temporary, 12-hour day shift on a heavy manufacturing site in Teesside. You will maintain reliable plant operation, perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance, and work with automated machinery and conveyors.

You will diagnose faults across motors, drives, PLCs, sensors and control systems, contributing to uptime improvements. This role offers 60-hour weeks with no nights, on a well-invested site.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering.
• Apprentice-trained electrical engineer with manufacturing experience.
• Experience with motors, drives and automation systems.
• PLC fault-finding experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across manufacturing plant and equipment.
• Diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, control systems and automated machinery.
• Support conveyors, hydraulic systems and material handling equipment.
• Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and repair.
• Assist with plant improvement and reliability projects.
• Support shut-down and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with engineering standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• 12 Hour days 6-6, 60 hours per week

Omega is recruiting for an experienced Contract , temporary Electrical Maintenance Engineers to support a large, highly automated heavy manufacturing operation. Process includes batching, mixing, moulding, conveying and automated product handling processes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested site operating complex industrial plant including conveyors, motors, drives, hydraulic systems, automated handling equipment, batching systems, process plant and PLC-controlled machinery. ideally starting 2nd or 9th November.

Job Role - Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Temporary Contract 12 hour Day shift

Working alongside an established engineering team, you'll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime and supporting ongoing improvement projects across a busy production environment.

You’ll be working across a heavy industrial manufacturing operation featuring:

• Automated batching and mixing plant
• Conveyors and material handling systems
• Hydraulic presses and production machinery
• Motors, gearboxes and drive systems
• PLC-controlled process equipment
• Automated transfer and handling systems
• Palletising and end-of-line equipment
• Dust extraction and site utilities
• Heavy process and manufacturing plant

Candidate Requirements

What We're Looking For - Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Temporary Contract

• Strong electrical fault-finding capability
• Experience with motors, drives, inverters and control systems
• PLC fault-finding experience preferred, it's an automated plant
• Familiarity with conveyors, automated handling equipment and process plant
• Ability to work safely within a busy manufacturing environment
• Reactive breakdown and preventative maintenance experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• NVQ level 3 or apprenticeship electrical equivalent
• Apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer or NVQ Level 3 equivalent
• Previous experience within manufacturing, process, industrial or heavy engineering environments
• Electrical fault-finding experience on production plant
• Good understanding of motors, drives, sensors and automation systems
• PLC fault-finding experience advantageous
