Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an experienced Contract Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a North Yorkshire FMCG site. Role focuses on hands-on electrical maintenance within an automated production and packaging environment, ensuring uptime and reliability.

Responsibilities include planned and reactive maintenance on conveyors, motors, drives, and PLCs, with a strong emphasis on safety and continuous improvement. The position is contract-based with day shifts and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprentice or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment – ideally with conveyors, motors, drives, etc
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work independently on maintenance or modification projects
• A proactive, problem-solving approach and commitment to continuous improvement
• Computer-literate with a good understanding of maintenance reporting systems

• Support the plant and automated systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and handling equipment
• Attend to breakdowns promptly, delivering fast, safe, and effective mechanical repairs

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring reliability and performance targets are achieved
• Maintain safe working practices and uphold engineering standards across all tasks

• Inside Scope, no Limited Co. engagement)
• Job Type: Contract, 2 months ongoing initially, potential to extend
• Day Shifts: Primarily Monday to Friday – 8-hour shifts – NO NIGHTS, some weekends
