Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a temporary 12-hour day shift within a busy heavy industrial plant. You will join an established engineering team to maintain plant reliability, reduce downtime and support ongoing improvement projects across automated conveyors, handling equipment and process lines.

Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 3 or electrical apprenticeship, strong fault-finding skills on motors, drives and control systems, and experience in manufacturing

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or electrical apprenticeship completed.
• Experience in manufacturing or heavy engineering environments.
• Strong electrical fault-finding capability.
• Experience with motors, drives, inverters and control systems.
• PLC fault-finding experience advantageous.
• Able to work safely in a busy manufacturing plant.
• Reactive and preventive maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, control systems and automated machinery.
• Support conveyors, hydraulic systems and material handling equipment.
• Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and repair.
• Assist with plant improvement and reliability projects.
• Support shut-down and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with engineering standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Job Role - Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Temporary Contract 12 hour Day shift Working alongside an established engineering team, you'll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime and supporting ongoing improvement projects across a busy production environment. You'll be working across a heavy industrial manufacturing operation featuring:

• Automated batching and mixing plant
• Conveyors and material handling systems, Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across manufacturing plant and equipment
• Diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, control systems and automated machinery
• Support conveyors, hydraulic systems and material handling equipment
• Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and repair
• Assist with plant improvement and reliability projects
• Support shut-down and maintenance activities
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with engineering standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Strong electrical fault-finding capability
• Experience with motors, drives, inverters and control systems
• PLC fault-finding experience preferred, it's an automated plant
• Familiarity with conveyors, automated handling equipment and process plant
• Ability to work safely within a busy manufacturing environment
• Reactive breakdown and preventative maintenance experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• NVQ level 3 or apprenticeship electrical equivalent
• Apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer or NVQ Level 3 equivalent
• Previous experience within manufacturing, process, industrial or heavy engineering environments
• Electrical fault-finding experience on production plant
• Good understanding of motors, drives, sensors and automation systems
• PLC fault-finding experience advantageous
