Job summary

SER-IN in Lockerbie is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy engineering team. You will maintain a wide range of automated production machinery and industrial electrical equipment, carrying out planned maintenance and reactive repairs to maximise plant reliability.

The role requires experience in manufacturing or heavy industry, with strong fault-finding skills on motors, drives, control panels and PLC-controlled systems. Excellent teamwork and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
Experience in manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance.
Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with motors, drives, control panels and industrial electrical systems.
Basic PLC knowledge is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
Respond to electrical breakdowns quickly and efficiently.
Diagnose and repair electrical faults.
Maintain and repair motors, drives, control panels, sensors, switchgear, and industrial electrical systems.
Fault-find on Siemens and Schneider PLC-controlled machinery; assist with PLC modifications.
Carry out workshop repairs and on-site maintenance.
Work safely in accordance with permit systems and risk assessments.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
