Job summary

DS Smith is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in a hands-on role that keeps our manufacturing operation running safely and efficiently.

You will perform planned preventive maintenance, electrical fault finding and repairs, and support wider engineering tasks, while contributing to continuous improvement and teamwork with production colleagues.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds) or equivalent.
• Experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good mechanical maintenance and breakdown knowledge.
• Experience with industrial machinery and automated equipment.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Commitment to health, safety and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Carry out electrical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on site machinery.
• Support mechanical maintenance and breakdown activities as part of a multi-skilled team.
• Complete planned preventive and reactive maintenance to a high standard.
• Identify recurring faults and contribute to root-cause analysis and improvements.
• Work safely in line with procedures, risk assessments and legislation.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities in CMMS.
• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to improve equipment reliability.
