Job summary

Safran in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for night shift to ensure uptime of production equipment across our aerospace actuation systems. You will diagnose faults, repair and modify high-tech machinery, interpret electrical schematics, and support hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

You should have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and experience with CNC machinery; the role offers training, career development and the chance to join a global leader.

Qualifications

  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience with CNC machinery and hydraulic test systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of environmental, health & safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair hydraulic test systems, including control systems and instrumentation.
  • Perform reactive repairs and planned maintenance on CNC equipment.
  • Support maintenance of process equipment including Heat Treatment and Plating facilities.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and work with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

About the Role:

You will play a key role in ensuring maximum uptime of critical production equipment and site services through both reactive and planned maintenance activities for a global leader in aerospace actuation systems. You will conduct electrical fault-finding, diagnosis, repairs, and modifications to high-tech machinery and equipment.

  • Maintain and repair hydraulic test systems, including control systems and associated instrumentation such as load cells or torque transducers.
  • Perform reactive repairs and planned maintenance on CNC equipment.
  • Support maintenance of process equipment, including Heat Treatment and Plating facilities.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Understand and work with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and drawings.
  • Conduct electrical fault-finding, diagnosis, repairs, and modifications.
What You'll Bring
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC machinery.
  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualifed to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Understand and work with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and drawings.
  • Proven experience in a Maintenance or Service Engineer role.
  • Knowledge of relevant Environmental, Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience with a range of industrial systems and maintenance practices.
