Job summary

Pioneer Selection Ltd is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Engineer (Multi-Skilled – Electrical Bias) for a fast-growing FMCG site in Wednesbury, West Midlands. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance on filling, can-seaming, packing and blow moulding equipment to maximise uptime.

The role requires strong electrical fault-finding and mechanical ability, with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification, and a proactive approach to continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Multi-skilled maintenance experience with an electrical bias in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory.
• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive and planned maintenance across production machinery such as filling, can-seaming, packing and blow moulding equipment.
• Investigate faults and drive root cause analysis to minimise downtime.
• Support reliability improvements and reduce production disruption.

Job Role of the Maintenance Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a hands‑on, proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a fast‑growing FMCG manufacturing site with recent investment and further plans for new machinery. This is a great role for someone who enjoys getting to root cause, driving improvements, and keeping a busy production environment running smoothly.

You’ll be responsible for reactive and planned maintenance across production machinery including filling, can‑seaming, packing and blow moulding equipment, supporting reliability and minimising downtime.

Sector – Factory Maintenance (Food Manufacturing)

Non‑Negotiable Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer

• Multi‑skilled maintenance experience with an electrical bias within an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast‑paced factory

Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer

• Strong electrical fault‑finding (plus solid mechanical ability)
• Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• If non‑UK qualification, equivalency may be required
• A proactive attitude—someone who enjoys improvements and problem‑solving

Desirable Requirements for the Maintenance Engineer

• Backgrounds considered, including Forces
• Experience within UK manufacturing (food experience beneficial but not essential)
