Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering experience required, preferably in machine tools.
• Knowledge of Siemens 840D/Dsl and electrical drawings essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and machinery.
• Work on a 3-shift pattern after initial dayshift settling period.

Skills

Experience of machine tools

Formal apprenticeship/5+ years engineering experience

Working in a machine tool environment

Mechatronics/cross discipline trained

Competent with computing, spreadsheets, word documents

Basic understanding of induction motors

Knowledge of relays/contactors/electro-mechanical valves/pumps

Experience with the use of test equipment

Understands advanced electrical drawings

Understands basic hydraulic drawings

Understands basic pneumatic drawings

Experience with Siemens 840D/Dsl

Familiarity with Siemens 840D/Dsl advanced diagnostic

Familiarity with Siemens S7 PLC diagnostic and editing

Familiarity with Siemens analogue and digital drives

Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a long-term contract in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Our client is a well-known engineering company with operations worldwide. This position will initially start on a dayshift but will eventually lead on to a 3 shift pattern once the successful candidate settles in.

Skills and Experience Required:

1. Experience of machine tools
2. Formal apprenticeship/5+ years engineering experience
3. Working in a machine tool environment preferred
4. Mechatronics/cross discipline trained
5. Competent with computing, spreadsheets, word documents, etc.
6. Basic understanding of induction motors
