Job summary

Red King Resourcing is seeking a Maintenance Electrician for an on-site role at Regent's Park, London NW1. The position is permanent with a 7:00am-3:00pm or 11:00am-7:00pm shift pattern, Monday to Friday, to support electrical installation and routine maintenance across the campus.

The role requires Level 3 NVQ and 18th Edition, with experience in a maintenance team, BMS knowledge, and CAFM systems. You will ensure safe, reliable power and lighting for students and staff.

ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

Location: Regent's Park, London NW1 (Fully On-Site)

Salary: £42,000 - £44,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday (7:00am-3:00pm and 11:00am-7:00pm shift pattern)

Employment Type: Permanent

I am working with an established educational facility who are looking for a static Maintenance Electrician to work Monday to Friday on site. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will bring electrical installation and maintenance experience and expertise, making sure the site always stays switched on and able to meet the needs of students and staff.

Reporting to the Estates Helpdesk & Maintenance Manager, you will operate across campus responding to emergencies and proactively improving facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Maintenance Shift Leader/Estates Helpdesk on a daily basis regarding progress or completion of assigned responsibilities, including prioritising outstanding tasks.
• Complete electrical maintenance activities around campus, from responding to breakdowns to completing planned maintenance work.
• Be a point of call for electrical-related contractors.
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance inspections and associated works.
• When necessary, provide advice and guidance to less experienced staff on practical issues.
• Exchange information with both internal and external contractors.
• Operate manual or computerised record-keeping control systems.
• Keep all work order sheets up to date, recording for each order time commenced and finished and materials used.
• Liaise in advance with originators to determine suitable access arrangements, work competently without supervision, prioritise works and ensure surroundings are left in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Liaise with contractors when they are on site, ensuring a high quality of work.
• Maintain clean and tidy workshops, including general cleaning and stock control of electrical stores.
• Deliver a high quality of finished workmanship.
• Ensure works are undertaken within suitable timescales appropriate to the task.
• Complete and sign off work requests within the required time period.

Knowledge / Qualifications / Skills / Experience Required

• Electrical qualification required: Minimum Level 3 NVQ and 18th Edition.
• Experience working within a maintenance team.
• Experience rectifying issues with lighting and emergency lighting, as well as installation.
• Experience working with both 230V and 400V power.
• Competent knowledge of BMS.
• Experience using CAFM systems.
• Good communication skills and the ability to address a variety of stakeholders.
• Sound working knowledge of standard IT packages, systems and/or databases.
• Proactive approach to relationship development with colleagues.
• Good attention to detail.
• Good time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise.
• Good team-working skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to interpret and apply guidelines to a specific activity.
• Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.
