Job summary

Tech-People is actively seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a static site in Leicester (LE1). The role runs from November 2026 to May 2027, working Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure safe restoration of services while keeping detailed records. The position requires current 18th Edition BS 7671 and proven electrical maintenance experience in a commercial environment.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Leicester (LE1) - Long-term contract

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer for a static site-based role in Leicester, starting Monday 9th November 2026, running until May 2027.

Duties

• Carrying out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and completing repairs.
• Supporting the safe restoration of services.
• Undertaking routine inspections and testing.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance, compliance and job records.
• Liaising with the site team and contractors, escalating any safety-critical issues.

Requirements

• Relevant electrical qualifications
• Current 18th Edition required
• Previous experience in electrical maintenance within a commercial environment.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently on a static site.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm (40 hours per week, 1 hour unpaid break).

Pay rates

£25.00 per hour - Umbrella PAYE (£19.19 per hour - PAYE equivalent)

Important: This role must be paid via an umbrella PAYE arrangement. No CIS or Ltd company payments.
