Job summary

SRG is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician for a permanent role in Horsham, West Sussex. The position follows a 4 on/4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights) with hours from 06:30 to 18:30 and 18:30 to 06:30.

You will maintain and improve plant performance in a fast-paced industrial environment. The successful candidate will have an Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent), strong fault-finding skills in industrial settings, and familiarity with PLCs,

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (HNC or equivalent).
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing or automated environments.
• Familiar with PLC fault finding and instrumentation systems; 18th Edition advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical systems, including sensors, relays and contactors.
• Work with control panels and MCCs; support plant availability and continuous improvement.
• Perform electrical fault finding and interpret technical drawings.
• Work with controls/instrumentation including temperature, pressure and flow systems.
• Maintain health & safety, compliance and housekeeping; report incidents promptly.

SRG are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician for a successful and growing client based in Horsham, West Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving plant performance, ensuring operational efficiency and high engineering standards within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical systems, including:
• Sensors, relays, and contactors
• AC/DC motors
• Control panels and MCCs
• PLC systems (Siemens S7 experience preferred)
• Support plant availability, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform electrical fault finding and interpret technical drawings
• Work with controls and instrumentation, including temperature, pressure, and flow systems
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, and housekeeping
• Ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported promptly
• Contribute to engineering improvements and project work

Criteria:

• Qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (HNC or equivalent)
• Strong experience in industrial, manufacturing, or automated environments
• Competent in fault finding, diagnostics, and maintenance
• Ideally familiar with:
• PLC fault finding (any platform considered)
• Control and instrumentation systems
• 18th Edition (BS7671) is advantageous
