Job summary

SRG are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician for a successful and growing client based in Horsham, West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving plant performance, ensuring operational efficiency and high engineering standards within a fast-paced industrial environment.

This is a permanent role with a 4 on/4 off shift (2 days, 2 nights). Hours are 06:30 – 18:30 / 18:30 – 06:30.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (HNC or equivalent).
• Strong experience in industrial, manufacturing, or automated environments.
• Competent in fault finding, diagnostics, and maintenance.
• Ideally familiar with PLC fault finding (any platform), MCC panel layouts, control and instrumentation systems, 18th Edition (BS7671) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical systems, including sensors, relays, and contactors, AC/DC motors, control panels and MCCs.
• Work with PLC systems, with Siemens S7 experience preferred.
• Support plant availability, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform electrical fault finding and interpret technical drawings.
• Contribute to engineering improvements and project work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical systems, including:
• Sensors, relays, and contactors
• AC/DC motors
• Control panels and MCCs
• PLC systems (Siemens S7 experience preferred)
• Support plant availability, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Perform electrical fault finding and interpret technical drawings
• Work with controls and instrumentation, including temperature, pressure, and flow systems
• Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, and housekeeping
• Ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported promptly
• Contribute to engineering improvements and project work
