Job summary

BGIS City of London is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities team on a prestigious commercial site.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and monitor critical building systems. You will also update CAFM records, support safety procedures, and liaise with clients to ensure high service standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical and building services plant.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Monitor and maintain critical building systems.
• Support HVAC, UPS, generators, LV systems and other M&E equipment.
• Update maintenance records and CAFM systems accurately.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Supervise specialist subcontractors when required.
• Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: City of London

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team on a prestigious commercial site in the City of London. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and fault finding across a range of electrical and building services systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical and associated building services plant.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs to minimise downtime.
• Monitor and maintain critical building systems.
• Support HVAC, UPS, generators, LV systems and other M&E equipment.
• Update maintenance records and CAFM systems accurately.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Supervise specialist subcontractors when required.
• Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.

Requirements:

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
• 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Previous experience in commercial building maintenance, facilities management or building services.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and customer-focused approach.
• Experience working on critical or corporate environments would be advantageous.
