Job summary

ETS Consulting Ltd is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a leading FMCG manufacturer in Chester. You will be responsible for daily maintenance to maximise machine efficiency in a fast-moving production environment.

The role requires an apprentice-trained electrical engineer with PLC experience, knowledge of automated machinery, and preventive maintenance in FMCG. You should work well on your own initiative in a busy team.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice-trained electrical engineer with hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Experience with PLCs and automated machinery in a production environment.
  • Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance in FMCG manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day engineering and maintenance to high standards.
  • Minimise production downtime by timely preventative maintenance.
  • Investigate breakdowns and perform electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Record all actions to identify recurrent faults and improve reliability.
  • Coordinate with production to ensure spare parts and materials availability.
  • Support health and safety on site and maintain safe procedures.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of plant productivity.

Shift Pattern: Days Monday to Friday - 40 hours

The company have been established for over 50 years and is therefore extremely well established, supplying a variety of end users. Due to continued growth in their market share they are looking to recruit an engineer to add to the strong engineering team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day engineering and maintenance activities ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards and maximizing machine efficiencies. The successful candidate will come from an electrical engineering background and should be able to work on their own initiative, be a time served engineer with either bias (but multi-skilled) and have fast moving manufacturing experience. On a day to day basis, you will.



  • Work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.

  • Work collaboratively within the engineering team, providing support in investigating means of improving plant productivity and investigating and establishing causes for all breakdowns and damages.

  • Action any repairs and ensure that all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised and you will be involved in electrical and mechanical proactive and re-active maintenance.

  • Ensure that all necessary spare parts, materials, and equipment are available
