Qualifications

• Proven experience maintaining electrical systems in commercial/industrial/FM environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills are essential.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems and regulations is required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently.
• Complete PPMs in line with maintenance schedules.
• Ensure electrical systems comply with current legislation and standards.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergencies as needed.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Collaborate with wider engineering and FM teams.
• Adhere to health & safety procedures in all works.
• Support electrical projects and seek opportunities to progress toward HVAP.

Electrical Engineer - Facilities Management

Salary: £50,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a fully qualified Electrical Engineer to join a leading Facilities Management company, working on a high-profile client site in Boston Spa.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer looking to develop their career within a professional FM environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the electrical infrastructure across the site, ensuring all systems are safe, compliant and operating to a high standard.

Importantly, there are clear progression plans in place for the successful candidate to develop into an HVAP (High Voltage Authorised Person), making this an ideal opportunity for an engineer looking to take the next step in their career and expand their technical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.


• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely.


• Complete PPMs in line with the agreed maintenance schedules.


• Ensure all electrical systems and equipment are maintained in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.


• Respond to breakdowns and emergencies when required.


• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation.


• Work closely with the wider engineering and FM teams.


• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company and client health & safety procedures.


• Support the site team with electrical projects and improvements.


• Develop your knowledge and competence with a view to progressing into an HVAP position.

About You

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified Electrical Engineer with a strong understanding of electrical maintenance within a commercial, industrial or facilities management environment.

You will ideally have:

• A recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).


• 18th Edition qualification.


• Proven experience in electrical maintenance.


• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.


• Good knowledge of electrical systems and regulations.


• A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving.


• Excellent health & safety awareness.


• The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team.


• A genuine interest in career development and progressing towards HVAP authorisation.
