Wienerberger is a leading international provider of building materials and infrastructure solutions. Our Todhills factory in Bishop Auckland specializes in making bricks. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be part of the in-house team responsible for keeping the plant and equipment running smoothly. This role is internally called a Maintenance Electrician.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, planned preventive maintenance (PPM), working hands-on with specialist machinery, and ensuring operational efficiency. You will utilize your problem-solving skills and technical expertise daily, contributing to the reliability of our production processes.
We provide full training and PPE to ensure safe and effective work practices.
7 days out of every 14 days, with a shift pattern of 2 weeks of days (6am-6pm) and 2 weeks of nights (6pm-6am). The workweek runs from Sunday to Saturday, with specific days varying weekly.
You should be an electrically biased engineer with experience in a manufacturing environment, holding at least a Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering. Safety is a priority, and you should have a strong commitment to health and safety practices. Flexibility, physical fitness, and hands-on experience with PLCs, electrical motors, and pneumatics are essential. Good communication, team skills, and problem-solving abilities are also required.
Desirable qualifications include completion of a hands-on apprentice program, 17th/18th edition wiring regulations, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, and experience in heavy industry manufacturing.
