Orion Electrotech in Ash Vale is seeking a hands-on Electrical Maintenance Engineer to maintain a diverse range of machinery from vintage 1950s equipment to modern automated lines. You will contribute to electrical builds of bespoke welding machines and drive site-wide improvement projects.

You should have a strong background in industrial electrical maintenance, with solid 3-phase power knowledge, and a safety mindset aligned to UK standards (18th Edition preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a range of machinery including grinding, milling, turning, and sintering furnaces.
• Assist in electrical builds of bespoke welding machines.
• Manage site electrical safety including fixed wire testing (5-year) and PAT.
• Identify and implement electrical improvements to reduce downtime and increase production efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance team and heads of production to prioritise workloads.

Monday to Friday Days (7.30-4pm and 3pm finish on Fridays)

Salary: up to £42-48k

We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer Location: Ash Vale Position Type: Full-Time Role Overview We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for the electrical maintenance of our diverse range of machinery, from vintage 1950s equipment to modern automated lines, remains operational and efficient. You will also play a key role in the electrical build of our bespoke welding machines and site-wide improvement projects.

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer Role

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Maintenance: Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a varied range of machinery, including grinding, milling, and turning machines (1950s to current), sintering furnaces, and dedicated wire- making lines
• Industrial Electrics: Expertly handle 3-phase systems, power distribution, and motor control circuits.
• Machine Builds: Assist in the electrical assembly and build of our bespoke welding machines.
• Site Compliance: Manage site-wide electrical safety, including 5-year fixed wire testing (EICR), Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify and implement electrical improvements across the site to enhance safety, reduce downtime, and increase production efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the maintenance team and heads of production to prioritise workloads and ensure smooth operation.

What We're Looking For in the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

• Essential Experience: Strong background in industrial electrical maintenance with a solid understanding of 3-phase power.
• Technical Versatility: Ability to fault-find and maintain a wide age-range of mechanical/electrical equipment.
• Safety Mindset: Familiarity with UK electrical safety regulations (18th Edition preferred).
