Job summary

Proslipsi Recruitment Specialist is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician for a varied role across four manufacturing sites in the Oldham area. The position focuses on maintenance and installations, with an attractive £51k basic salary and ample overtime opportunities.

You will cover production needs, inspect electrical systems and appliances, and perform ISO-aligned maintenance. There is an on‑call rota and PLC literacy is required to drive PPM schedules.

Qualifications

• Experienced electrical maintenance engineer with mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in panel building and installation work.
• Confident and able to participate in an on-call rota for maintenance.
• PLC literate with the ability to complete PPM schedules.
• Experience with fix-wire testing and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Cover production needs regarding engineering issues and breakdowns.
• Conduct routine inspection of electrical systems and portable appliances.
• Undertake maintenance activities in line with ISO and customer specs.
• Reduce maintenance costs and utilize PPM to limit unplanned downtime.
• Work with the group maintenance team across four sites.
• Assist Engineering Manager on ongoing and new projects.

• Undertake maintenance activities in compliance with ISO and customer specifications.
• Reduce maintenance costs where possible and us PPM to reduce unplanned maintenance.
• Work as part of the group maintenance team covering four sites.
• Assist Engineering Manager with ongoing and new projects.
• Ability to participate in mechanical maintenance work as and when necessary.
• Work as part of a team and optimise company performance and reduce downtime where possible.

About You

• An experienced electrical maintenance engineer with a mechanical aptitude
• Experience of panel building and installation work
• Confident and the ability to be part of an out of hours rota for on call maintenance.
• PLC literate, with the competency to complete PPM schedules
• Experience of fix wire testing and instrumentation
• Prepared to be part of the on-call team 1 week in every seven weeks.
