Job summary

Dovetail and Slate is seeking an Electrical Lecturer to join its expanding team in Staffordshire. This permanent full-time role involves delivering electrical teaching up to Level 3, with a focus on both theoretical and practical training, and contributing to curriculum development.

Ideal candidates will have strong industry experience and the ability to teach a range of electrical subjects. Support is available to help you achieve a recognised teaching qualification, and a 5% Golden Hello is

Qualifications

  • Electrical vocational qualification with strong industry experience.
  • Ability to teach across electrical subjects up to Level 3.
  • Strong knowledge of current electrical industry standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for supporting and developing learners.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging teaching across electrical programmes up to Level 3.
  • Deliver both theoretical and practical electrical training.
  • Plan and develop engaging lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources.
  • Support learners through their studies, providing academic and pastoral guidance.
  • Monitor learner progress and help students achieve their qualifications and career goals.
  • Use innovative teaching methods and digital learning tools to encourage active participation.
  • Contribute to development of the electrical curriculum and new areas of provision.
  • Support student recruitment, enrichment activities and wider college events.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, assessment and safeguarding.

Electrical Lecturer

Permanent Full Time 37 Hours per Week

Location: Staffordshire

Salary: 32,753.97 - 45,524.92 per annum + 5% Golden Hello in Year 1

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Lecturer to join the expanding team at a further education provider. With the introduction of T Levels and green technologies, including EV charging and solar PV, this is a great opportunity for an electrical professional looking to move into further education.

Whether you're already teaching or looking to move into education, support is available to help you achieve a recognised teaching qualification.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Delivering engaging teaching across electrical programmes up to Level 3.
