Job summary

Platform Housing Group is seeking a Lead Engineer – Electrical to lead electrical services across Leicestershire. The role combines technical leadership with coaching apprentices and supporting teams to deliver high-quality repairs, testing and maintenance in customers’ homes and communal spaces.

The successful candidate will guide standards, mentor colleagues and stay updated with industry changes, ensuring compliance and excellent customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Full electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 with City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Commissioning and Certification.
• City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent in Inspection and Testing is preferred.
• AM2 and 18th Edition required.
• Unvented Hot Water qualification would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of electrical repairs, testing and maintenance in homes and communal areas.
• Manage jobs from inspection to completion with focus on customer service.
• Coach, mentor and develop colleagues and apprentices.
• Sign off colleagues against multi-skill framework and support End Point Assessments (EPA).
• Promote trade standards and best practice across platforms property care.
• Support trade training and upskilling with Learning & Development teams.
• Conduct trade audits, reviews and quality assessments for compliance.
