Job summary
Barnsley College is seeking an Electrical Installations Trainer to join the Engineering team. You will deliver engaging theoretical and practical learning, assess apprentices in college and workplaces, and monitor progress toward end-point assessment.
You’ll develop materials and contribute to quality assurance while maintaining industry links. Experience in domestic and industrial installations is essential, with eligibility to work in the UK.
Qualifications
- Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification is required.
- Assessor Awards or willingness to work towards.
- Level 4 teaching qualification or willingness to work towards.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2) or willingness to work towards.
- 18th Edition qualification or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe.
- Experience in domestic and industrial installations.
Responsibilities
- Teach, train and assess electrical installation theory and practical work.
- Manage a caseload of apprentices through their journey and progress reviews.
- Carry out workplace assessments and support end-point assessment preparation.
- Develop learning and assessment materials aligned to apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours.
- Collaborate with apprentices, employers and colleagues to deliver high-quality technical education.
