Job summary
Barnsley College is seeking an Electrical Installations Trainer to join the Engineering department, delivering engaging theoretical and practical learning to apprentices both at college and in the workplace. You will manage a caseload, monitor progress, and carry out workplace assessments to prepare learners for their end‑point assessment.
You’ll work with employers to review progress, set SMART targets and develop learning materials aligned to apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours,
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
- Assessor Awards (or willingness to work towards).
- Level 4 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualification) or willingness to work towards.
- 18th Edition qualification or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe.
- Previous relevant work experience within industry with experience of both domestic and industrial installations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging theoretical and practical learning to apprentices.
- Manage a caseload of apprentices and monitor progress.
- Carry out workplace assessments and prepare apprentices for endpoint assessments.
- Support tripartite progress reviews with apprentices and employers.
- Develop learning and assessment materials aligned to apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours.
