Job summary

Bedford College Group is seeking a Technical Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join our Engineering department at the Cauldwell Street Campus, Bedford. Plan, develop and deliver industry‑relevant programmes across Electrical Installation and Building Services, combining practical and theoretical learning to meet learner needs.

This permanent, full‑time post is 37 hours per week, 52 weeks a year, with a salary of £33,048–£38,169 plus a market supplement up to £10,000, 45 days’ leave, a

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installations with current industry experience.
• Able to teach across vocational areas, engage learners and demonstrate practical skills.
• Willing to achieve Level 3 Teaching Award, TAQA and Cert Ed qualifications.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
• Committed to safeguarding, health and safety and flexible across locations.

Responsibilities

• Teach Electrical & Building Services across programmes, combining theory and practice.
• Monitor learner progress, attendance, achievement and behaviour with interventions.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources; provide feedback.
• Contribute to course development, quality improvement and CPD.
